May 1 – May 9: Windhoek to South African border
We’ve arrived at the South African border where we’re resting up before entering our destination country tomorrow.
Namibia has been brilliant – beautiful desert landscapes, quiet roads and friendly faces.
We’ve only one week to go! We reach Cape Town in 6 days and we can almost taste the finish.

Windhoek, Namibia, April 28, 2010
April 24 – April 28 : Maun, Botswana to Windhoek, Namibia
We crossed this week into Namibia and arrived yesterday in Windhoek – its pretty (and hilly!) capital. It’s been unseasonably wet – very wet – as we chewed up the long flat kilometers between Botswana and Namibia.
We start the final stage of the ride tomorrow morning. Riding into Windhoek was moving as it’s so close to home – can’t imagine how emotional I’ll be when we reach Cape Town.

April 11 – April 22 : Lusaka Zambia to Maun, Botswana
Mosi-oa-Tunya, The Smoke that Thunders – aka Victoria Falls. Nothing quite evokes the picture of Africa as these magnificent falls first seen by an awestruck David Livingston in 1855. We stopped at the falls for a 2 day rest stop and then headed for Botswana from where this post originates.
